Home. Sally Hastings Profile

Hello. My name is Sally Hastings

Hello. I am an experienced general counsellor and Relate trained couples counsellor with psychosexual training. I am also a qualified counselling supervisor. I have taught counselling to Diploma level at a College of Technology and offered pastoral care in a hospice. I have also counselled in a Secondary School. As a counsellorI won't tell you what to do, but I offer a calm, quiet, non judgemental space where you can be listened to and choose your own path. I am trained to ask appropriate questions to help you express what it is you want to say and sort things out.

I am offering face to face , telephone counselling, Skype or Zoom sessions .
Couple Counselling
When relationships become troubled communication is often the first thing to go. Couples find it difficult to talk to one another or to feel heard. Sexual issues are hard to discuss. I offer clients a quiet space where they can explore their issues calmly and confidentially with an experienced counsellor.
Life during Lockdown has offered some people a chance to reassess their lifestyles, and what they need from a relationship. For others, it has placed a difficult strain on life as a couple. I can help you communicate with each other and start to explore the issues. To hear one another and begin to understand each others point of view. For some, it is not possible to repair a relationship, but couples part with a better understanding. However, many do not want to separate but simply want things to be different.

Individual therapy
There are many reasons why individuals seek a counsellor. Unresolved childhood issues , bullying, loss and bereavement can effect people's moods and self worth leaving them insecure and unsure of themselves or their purpose. Anxiety or depression can result in sleeplessness, panic attacks or low self esteem. I can help clients talk about and find ways to help themselves overcome these issues.
I have personal experience of supporting the terminally ill and have worked in a hospice.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and work to their Code of Ethics.
Based in Church Crookham I work with clients from areas including Fleet, Farnborough,Aldershot, Farnham, Yateley, Camberley and Guildford.

My fees are £50 individuals per hour. £55 couples., p.h. £60 p,h. supervision. Consessions for students.

Trained to listen

I am trained to listen and sometimes ask appropriate questions to help you explore issues for yourself. If you are a couple you may need help and space to talk to one another. I can teach you how to listen and start to communicate on a deeper level.

I am experienced in helping clients who are having difficulties with:

  • Stress
  • Relationships
  • Psychosexual issues
  • Panic Attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Divorce and Separation
  • Depression
  • Low Self Esteem
  • Self Development
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Long term caring
  • Terminal or life limiting conditions
  • Coping with loss and change
  • Living with and relating to Aspergers and high spectrum autism

Affairs, financial worries, addictions such as alcohol, drugs or pornography can be hugely damaging to a relationship, but if worked through honestly, the resulting fresh understanding can lead to a stronger relationship.

Sometimes a relationship is over. You may need help in explaining this to your partner, or you may need support while you come to terms with a relationship break up. I can provide this.

One of the most difficult things to talk to each other about can be sexual issues. I am a fully qualified Relate trained marital and relationship counsellor and psychosexual therapist.

Sometimes clients need help in understanding and coming to terms with loss, whether it is through the death of a loved one, the loss of a job or dealing with change. I am trained to help you.

I have personal and professional experience in walking beside people who are terminally ill and can offer support to both patients and carers of chronically ill or terminally ill loved ones.

Stress and anxiety are part and parcel of today's busy and uncertain world. I can teach you some practical steps, using CBT, to help you deal better with them.
